Product Loves #2

Sorry it has been a while since I was able to write! The moving craziness is finally subsided. I will post all about the move and how we have done in Kentucky so far soon. I want to try and finish up somethings in the house first. But I do want to tell you guys all about another product that I love.

Just in time for summer I want to share with you guys my favorite Sun Glasses. They are from a company called Quay Australia. My bestie Sara told me about their company and I am in love! It was hard to pick a pair that stood out among the rest. I have been on a blue kick so I choose some blue lenses!

I LOVE these shades, there are so many different types to choose from! I love wearing them everywhere! I recently went to Malibu Farms, which was amazing, it was a beautiful day but the sun was right in my face as I ate my breakfast. So these babies came in handy!

If you are looking for the perfect shades for the Summer these are them! Go and check out their page—–>Quay Australia They also have some Men’s shades!

More to come soon–

Product LOVES! #1

Okay guys, I am a huge fan of a paci, I love how it can soothe Ryker so easily and how it keeps him calm in certain situations. The paci that I have fallen in love with is the PatPat. The company it comes from is Ryan and Rose. Ryker has been a baby that took a pacifier on day one, but there are so many babies that don’t. Well the Pat Pat has had so much success! If you little one isn’t taking a paci and you want them to, check this out!

The second reason these Pat Pats are the best would be how cute they are! I was getting so tired of the big green thing in Ryker’s mouth.. These pacifiers come in so many color options, not to mention the cute clips that can be ordered with them! The founder, Lindsey, I follow her on Insta, and her life is so down to earth. We do not share the same faith but her love in God and Jesus is so inspiring to me in my own faith! If you ever need some uplifting go follow her! Her Insta is ryanandrose.

If you are second guessing giving your child a paci, it is completely your choice. For us it was about being able to soothe Ryker in the hospital when he was struggling to eat. Then it continued to soothe him up to now. We have discussed when to take it away and I am so uncertain about when to do that.. I will let you guys know how weaning him goes once that process starts! If you decide that a paci is not the way you want to go with your little ones, the cutie clips that Ryan and Rose sells are AMAZING! I just ordered one and I will post a picture on Insta when it arrives! Much cuter than any other ones I have seen!

Ryan and Rose is the cutest company for any new mom or veteran mom! These would also be great gifts or ways to announce your pregnancy! Go check them out!

I chose the clear Pat Pat to match everything, you definitely need a clip or something to hold it on because if it falls it is hard to see lol I love all the colors though! If Ryker was younger when I found these pacifiers I would have more! It is also a tether! You can push the nipple in to make it a tether only! It’s amazing! I can’t wait for the clip to arrive!

Stay tuned the next couple of weeks for a few more of my favorite products!

Mexico Crusin’

Well it has been a while since I have posted! I stay really up to date on my Instagram if anyone wants to see the daily happenings. We just got home from a Carnival Cruise to Ensenada, Mexico. It was a vacation we planned before Bobby starts school again.. I plan to never really see him once he starts. We left Ryker at home (which was really difficult for me..) but had a TON of fun!

First things first, the packing. Bobby and I share one suit case, but I wish I used a carry on plus a large case this time. The first thing I do to start packing is check the weather. This trip said it wouldn’t get hotter than 70 degrees, which is pretty cold for Mexico. So I started packing with some bathing suits and coverups that I really wanted to try and wear. Even though I knew it would be on the cooler side, the cruise has 4 jacuzzis so I figured I may still need them. I also really want to get rid of my farmers tan lines, if you know what I mean.. After that I focus on what to wear for the weather, so I grabbed some long sleeve shirts, leggings, and jeans. Then I pack a couple of tank tops incase it is warmer inside of the ship. Shoes is the hard part! I always want to bring WAY too many! I decided on 2 pairs of sandals and 2 heel type shoes. The heels are for dinners and formal night, I prefer to wear sandals and not socks, so I didn’t pack any tennis shoes or boots. (Although I was regretting not having some boots because it was pretty chilly) When I pack Bobby it is way easier, just grab one sweater and some t-shirts, a button up or two, his suit (for formal night), shorts, and pants. Men are pretty basic and don’t need a ton.

Arrival to the ship: We park our car at the port, it is really pricey so if you have someone willing to drop you off and pick you up it may be a better option. We have one of the porters check our bag so we do not have to take it onto the ship ourselves. It is free to do so and they take it straight to our room, we usually tip them a couple of dollars. Make sure to have your passport or birth certificate ready, you cannot get on the ship without it.If you are using a birth certificate then you need a picture ID to go with it. We love to get onto the ship and go straight to the food. That is the best part, unlimited food! The rooms aren’t ready until 1:30 or so anyways. We boarded around 12:30pm so we ate and just hung out by the pool until our room was ready. On a cruise your room key is the most important thing to have with you at all times, it is how you get drinks and really do or buy anything on the ship. Once we got our keys we unpacked and relaxed, the whole point of this trip was to get lots of rest and relaxation. We always scan over the itinerary for the day which they always have for you at your room. We went to dinner and the marriage game show, which is our favorite!

Formal Night Ready!- I used a small long strapped purse the entire cruise, just big enough for my phone and a pack of gum! I also stowed some cash in there!

If you are a drinker or love soda like I do, then the unlimited soda or alcohol packages are for you. Soda and alcohol are not included in your cruise price, the soda package was 8 dollars a day and alcohol was 55 dollars a day. Totally worth it!! I do like to get the occasional blended drink, they are so good! Once all of this is settled have fun! Carnival now has an app that works while you are at sea and it tells you the weather, the itinerary, and any of the happenings on the cruise. What I LOVED about the app was that you can favorite certain events and the app would remind you when it was 15 minutes away. Super easy and fun to use. I have two things I love to do on cruises, first is trivia, even though I never win I have a great time! They had Harry Potter Trivia, TV theme song trivia, sports trivia, general trivia, and Friends trivia. We couldn’t make it to all of them but there are so many awesome options!

The second thing I love is Bingo! It seems silly but they vamp it up on a cruise ship! I have never won but I have a good time playing. I don’t every buy the dobber they sell to play, I just bring a pen.

My dream is to someday go on a Disney Cruise! But it is just too expensive for now.. Carnival is a great cruise line to use as a first time cruiser. Let me know if you have any questions! Also a shout out to Paula’s Travel who planned our whole cruise for free! Contact her at 805-583-8339 or visit her Facebook page for any travel needs!

PA School or Bust!

Let me just start by saying that I am so extremely proud of my hubby for getting into Physician Assistant School the first round! It is really hard to get in the first time applying, so if you or your significant other hasn’t received an acceptance yet, don’t give up hope!

When we found out that he got accepted to school across the country I didn’t know how to feel.. I was so excited but at the same time scared. We were going to have to uproot our lives and leave our families to move! I didn’t even know where to start.. Of course the first thing on my mind was a place to live. This was so fun looking for a place to house us for the next two years! But then I hit a brick wall.. I have never been to Louisville, KY I didn’t know the good areas from the bad and I was lost. Bobby (my hubby) reached out to some of the people that were already in the program that he met during his interview and we were able to find the perfect fit for our family. If you are struggling to find a place to live in a foreign state try reaching out on Facebook or another social media site to get some help. We also loved using the Trulia App because they tell you the crime rates and good shopping areas! The one nice thing was the prices, everything we were looking at was a lot cheaper than California, but that is no shocker there! We found an amazing 2 bed 2 bath place that has a dog park for Meeko and a playground for Ryker, it also has a gym, pool, and tennis courts! (Not that I play tennis lol) Words cannot express how excited I am to actually see it in person! Since we have been married we have lived in a granny flat with no oven or dishwasher.. almost 4 whole years people.. and I have really grown to appreciate using them, so I am so excited to have it in my own kitchen! Also, we have a washer and dryer inside the apartment which may be even better!

The next step after finding an apartment was figuring out a job for me. I was thinking I would just continue to teach once I was there but something didn’t feel right about that.. So I started looking at ways I could stay at home with Ryker or bring him with me to work. It is not easy looking for a job when you don’t even live in the state yet.. I started with the idea of teaching online and having Ryker at home with me. It sounded amazing at first but then I realized if I was home alone and teaching and then Ryker started crying and needed me I wouldn’t be able to just up and leave the middle of teaching. So I started to doubt that option (especially since Ryker isn’t sleeping through the night yet). I then debated some type of online customer service where I did not have to talk on the phone, where it was all typed correspondence, but the hours are not by choice. There has to be some option out there for me… I even applied to a preschool, but then the pay wouldn’t be enough if we also had to pay a portion for Ryker to go. I am at a loss in this area but I will keep you guys posted once I make a decision. If anyone has any great ideas let me know!

One of the last things we did was sell the majority of our large furniture, we didn’t want to drive it all and pay thousands of dollars for a moving truck. So once we get to Kentucky we will buy everything. I am so excited for this because then I get to decorate a house for the first time! If anyone has any furniture recommendations let me know! It is so hard living out of boxes at the moment and we are counting down the days until we make the biggest change in our lives.. Stay tuned over the next few months for moving tips and how it goes traveling with a baby, or I guess toddler at that point, Ryker will be one!!

Easter Basket Fun

So I have been going back and forth on what to do for Easter with Ryker because he is only 9 months old.. Do I go all out or do I take it easy because he wont remember anyways? Well I decided to go all out of course! It is so fun to play the Easter bunny and plan a basket! But what are good choices to put in a basket? And what kind of basket should I get? Well I had a couple of things that I needed in a basket.

1. I wanted Ryker’s name on it, I love when things are personalized, I think it gives it a special touch. 2. I wanted a sturdy basket that would last at least a couple of years- I even went back and forth between a traditional basket and a bucket but then there is a storage issue if it was too bulky of a basket.. 3. Size, I didn’t want it to be too small because as an almost toddler all the toys and fun stuff wouldn’t fit! 4. Last but not least, the price, I needed something affordable with nice quality. So I searched Amazon, Personalization Mall, and Walmart all with no luck.. Then I tried Etsy and wow the options were endless! I found this cute little shop called S Burke Design & Co. The owners name is Sam and she has the cutest stuff! From custom baby t-shirts to wedding items. I saw this amazing Easter basket that seemed like the perfect size and was blue and had a cute cotton tale and was only $15! It seemed like the perfect mix of what I was looking for. I got it today and I love it! I put some of his Easter goodies to just to show you how amazing it is. Side note, I still need to get a couple of things but I could not wait to show! Go and check her out! She even sent a hand written note with my purchase, so sweet! Sam Burke Design Co (See Below the Pics for some ideas of what to put inside a basket!)

So it took me a while to decide on what to put inside his basket… The first thing I knew he would love is his kibble or puffs- my sister-in-law (almost 😉 ) Sara, got us to call his puffs kibble haha. The rest I really got at Target- the best place to shop ever! I love the light up wands- when you smack it they glow, there were 4 colors in the dollar section- grab them while there hot! Then I saw a bath bomb and I thought that would be so fun for him to have at bath time. In the dollar spot they also had a glitter bouncy ball with a bunny inside- super cute! I think I will fill the blue eggs with some kibble and other yum yums. Then I threw in some new socks and a new snippy cup with no handles because his other cups with the handles do not fit in cup holders and that drives me crazy! The ones I love are the munchkin brand and they are spill proof- I got the 2 pack which was blue and green but I wanted to keep his basket blue.. my OCD side lol I will probably get a toy to add to the basket but I haven’t decided yet which one, if you have any suggestions let me know! I can’t wait for the Easter Bunny to make an appearance!

About Me..

Hey Guys, I wanted to share a little about me and my family! I am currently 25 years old and married to my high school sweet heart Bobby. We have been married for almost 4 years but together for 10!  We have a son named Ryker who is 9 months old and a crazy doggy named Meeko who is 2.  I currently teach Kindergarten and I love it, although I do miss time with my Ryker.. I have 15 rambunctious students who often test my patience but they always give me so much love by the end of the day. My husband currently works as an ER Tech and recently got into Physician Assistant Graduate School in Louisville, Kentucky. I could not be more proud of him!

I have never left Simi Valley, California.. born and raised, and it is scary yet exciting that we get to go! We packed up everything and sold all our large furniture to make the move in a couple of months. We decided to wait to go until after Ryker’s 1st birthday in June. We are currently living with my in-laws until we go. Being the oldest siblings we are really the first to make this drastic of a move. Our friends and families are already planning their trips to come and see us. Lets be real though, they only want to visit Ryker anyways.. haha.. I am so excited to share our journey to Kentucky with you guys!

How It All Started

I am so excited to start this blogging journey! It all really came to me when my hubby got into Physician Assistant school.. we were all of a sudden moving across the country and I needed a plan. I knew that I wanted to stay at home as much as possible with our son, but we needed some sort of income. I was searching for teaching positions, because I am currently a Kindergarten teacher, but then I would be away from Ryker all day. I needed a space to really set free and be myself. I wanted the flexibility of a stay at home mom with some sort of income. I may have found my itch. I want to share my journey to Kentucky with everyone, because maybe there is someone out there who is going through the same. Let’s talk about the ups and downs of moving far away from all our family and friends, the ways that we decorate our new apartment (we have sold all of our furniture so its a blank slate!), and some fun and exciting things along the way. I can’t wait to to get to know all of you!
